Aftercare and warning signs
Filler Aftercare in Dubai: Bruising or Urgent Warning?
Bruising can occur after facial fillers, but not every colour change should be labelled a bruise. If you are planning filler treatment in Dubai, learn the escalation plan before leaving the clinic. This guide supports recognition and communication; it cannot diagnose a complication from its appearance.

Understand expected effects without assuming
Local swelling, tenderness and bruising may follow injection. Ask your clinician what is expected for the product and area treated, how it should evolve and whom to call if it does not. An expected-effects leaflet is not permission to ignore symptoms that worsen or feel different. Timing alone cannot distinguish a normal reaction from a problem.

Recognise signs needing immediate help
Unusual pain, white, grey or blue skin near an injection site and changes in vision can indicate a serious complication. Sudden facial weakness, trouble speaking or other stroke-like symptoms also require emergency care. Filler can obstruct a blood vessel, causing tissue injury and potentially sight loss or stroke. Seek immediate medical assessment; do not wait for photographs to be reviewed.
Give a clear symptom report
For concerns without emergency signs, explain when the symptom began, whether it is increasing and the exact area involved. Mention fever, warmth, drainage or a new lump and provide the treatment record if available. Images can supplement that account, but they do not replace examination. If the team cannot be reached and symptoms are concerning, seek another medical service.
Avoid improvised correction
Do not squeeze a lump, apply strong pressure or follow online massage instructions. Some products have particular aftercare requirements, so only use the treating clinician's instructions. Ask before resuming strenuous exercise or applying products to the area. Keep the after-hours contact and product information accessible, especially if you plan to travel soon after treatment.

Common questions
Can a photo tell me whether a mark is safe?
No. Lighting can distort colour, and a photograph cannot assess circulation, pain or vision. Use the warning symptoms and seek clinical assessment when concerned rather than asking for reassurance from an image alone.
Should I wait until the clinic opens if vision changes?
No. A new visual symptom during or after filler treatment needs immediate medical attention. Alert the treating team as well, but do not let a delayed reply postpone emergency assessment.
Can problems appear after the early swelling settles?
Yes, some filler-related effects appear later. Report a new persistent lump, swelling or inflammation and mention previous fillers even months later; a late symptom still deserves an appropriate review.

Questions before arranging an appointment?
Enquire about the next steps and availability. An enquiry does not confirm a booking or diagnosis and is not an emergency service.
