Practical questions

Lip filler goals: describe shape, not a copied photograph

A photograph can start a conversation about your preferences, but it cannot prescribe a lip shape. A useful consultation translates a visual wish into a question about your own anatomy and acceptable trade-offs.

General information for adults. Not a substitute for medical assessment.

Illustrated planning notes for Lip filler goals: describe shape, not a copied photograph
Illustrative image; not a named clinician or facility.

Name the feature that matters to you

Instead of asking for a named social-media look, describe whether you mean definition, overall fullness, a difference between sides or how the lips look when speaking. Bring an unfiltered older photograph of yourself if it helps explain your baseline. A reference image may involve makeup, lighting, facial expression or editing. You do not need to identify every effect; ask the clinician to distinguish a preference from something a procedure could realistically address.

Discuss limits before quantity

Ask what your existing proportions and movement mean for the proposed change, what the clinician would not recommend and why. A number advertised in a package is not an assessment of your needs. Do not select an amount from an influencer’s experience or assume that a small-sounding amount is risk-free. Request an explanation of possible asymmetry, unwanted contour changes and the limitations of correcting a result you dislike before agreeing to treatment.

Keep the decision yours

Write down what you want to preserve as well as what you hope to change. Ask how outcome assessment will be separated from early post-treatment changes, and whether declining or postponing is a reasonable option. Avoid making a decision immediately after comparing your face with a filtered feed. This guide does not determine suitability, certify a provider or promise a natural appearance. Leave with an understandable plan rather than a commitment to match another person.

Common questions

Can filler reproduce someone else’s lips?

No result can be promised from a reference photo. Your anatomy and clinical assessment matter.

Should I choose a package amount before consultation?

No. Start with the concern, limitations and risks, not a preset quantity.

Is deciding not to proceed acceptable?

Yes. An elective cosmetic discussion should leave room to pause or decline.

Sources and information limits

Questions before arranging an appointment?

Enquire about the next steps and availability. An enquiry does not confirm a booking or diagnosis and is not an emergency service.
